CMOS Battery

Hello,

I have about 8 of the Quantum Byte MiniPC’s. All but one is working perfectly. The problem child will not keep time and i suspect the CMOS battery. I can manually go in and sync time and it will work just fine for a few hours but then the clock will go so far out of time that the PC will drop network connectivity. Is there a replacement battery for these units?

Thanks
Marce

Just got 4Gb version of Byte Plus with Windows 10. Same issue. Windows Store opens up, but typing in the Store search or opening any app details (before download) closes the Windows Store App. The error from Windows Events is attached below.
Tried Windows Update – fails to update. Tried clearing up Windows Store cache – doesn’t resolve the issue. Just launched Windows 10 reset without an option to keep any files or applications. This should wipe the storage and reinstall the OS. Haven’t had a chance to try Windows Update or open Windows Store app yet.

Hello Chris,

Let me provide you some troubleshooting:

1- Follow these steps: unplug everything, wait 10 secs, turn the TV on, connect all the cables, pick the proper HDMI input and then, turn the device on.
2- There are two microUSB ports, one for USB and the other one for the power supply, please make sure that you are using the proper one.
3- Could you try the device with a different TV or monitor?

If you have any question or need further help, do not hesitate to reach out directly to us.

Thank you

So you have to crack it open to put this jumper on it? Where is this information published?

Will you also support the new Access Plus with Ubuntu 16.04? The 4GB ram and the USB3.0 port make it very interesting for a nice small Linux system.

Azulle Quantum Acess Lan Loses Lan connection

I have two of the Azulle Quantum Access Lan version.

They are neat little computers and would serve well for an application that I have for them.

The issue is that they lose lan connectivity. Both do it, and I have upgraded the drivers on both of them, and upgraded windows also trying to solve the issue. Both behave exactly the same way.

The application that I am using them for is the collection and display of data in real time from a transducer (Radar array). The data comes in via Ethernet from the Radar.

The issue is something with the Access Lan units, as I also have a Byte Plus and it works great, as do a stack of laptops taller than most people (We currently use laptops for our product, but would rather be able the use the Azulle Quantum Access Lan Stick Computers).

The lan is randomly reset between 1 and 28 seconds after the data stream starts. The program detects the Reset, and resets the array, resulting in data loss and a warm up time for the array being instituted, 70 Seconds, which is basically an eternity.

We have also eliminated any sleep functions for the LAN port, and any power saving settings that we can find.

The Byte Plus works out of the box for the system.

Anyone got any ideas? I know that the lan on this is a lan adapter after the USB 2.0 Hub inside the computer. The issue could be data overwhelm with the 2.0 USB?

Also we are using a Logitech K400r keyboard on both units in testing. I am wondering if the wireless keyboard dongle could be drawing too much power and forcing a reset for the Lan system which is on the same internal hub?

Thanks,
Guy

Hi All,

I’m hoping someone can help me get my Quantum View 10.1 back up and running again.

I attempted to upgrade to Win 10, but, part way through installation one of the reboots spawned a command window which quickly flashes up followed by “Restoring previous version of Windows” which never completes. Now every time I power on I’m stuck in this same loop.

Is there any way I can restore back to my previous Win 8.1 and retrieve my document files ?
Worst case for me, how can I restore my tablet so I can boot a fresh version of Win 8.1 ? as my tablet is bricked right now 🙁

Any help is greatly appreciated.

JP.

Just got it today. Booted it up and installed windows updates. Now I can’t get it to boot up again. Saw another thread saying to not update windows. Of course, this is after I bricked mine. Is there a way to fix this?

Windows 10 update killed my Access

Windows 10 did an update and now my Access won’t boot up. The screen shows:
Recovery
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
A required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed
Error code: 0xc0000225
You’ll need to use recovery tools. If you don’t have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturere.

Nothing was disconnected from the Access. Windows 10 did an update and after that this message come up.

I have followed the directions on the restoring an Access to factory fresh but it does not work. I have tried with 3 different USB drives and they all fail with the same message:

Making directories…
The system cannot find the drive specified.
“Failed to make w:\recycler\scratch directory”
An error has been dectected.

Script Start Time is 16:14:49.69
Script Stop Time is 16:15:08.82

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello JP,

Let me help you with a couple of ideas. You can always go back to Windows 8.1 performing a factory restore, the instructions of how to do it you can find above. However that would wipe out your hard drive, if you are in the need to save you files I would recommend you to boot from a live distro 32 bits to copy your files to an external hard drive or USB. The distro will not fully work out the box (no Wi-Fi, BT or sound) but it will be functional enough to allow you to transfer the files.

Thank you,

Hello Jeb,

Did you follow all the steps from the Factory Restore guide? It is very important the name (WINPE) and the format (FAT32). Also could you state if you are using a USB Hub or you are connecting the USB drive directly to the USB port.
We are about to upload a new image for the Quantum Access with the last build from Microsoft, I would recommend you to try it with that one.

Let us know if you need further help.

Thank you,

I did follow the factory restore guide. The USB drive is named WINPE and formatted FAT32. I am using an inateck USB hub. This was an access that was originally Windows 8. I upgraded it to Windows 10 and it worked fine until Microsoft did a Windows 10 update that killed it. I am using the Windows 8 restore files for the restore.

byte plus bios update bricks device

New byte plus 4gb arrived today, was working great out of the box. I applied the firmware update listed here it appeared to be successful, automatically shutdown, and it will no longer boot.

I’ve been through all of the remove power, hit button 45 seconds, etc procedures here on the forums but it will not post, you can get the light to go blue/red, but other than that it’s just an expensive paperweight.

Support, what’s the deal from here? Please publicly tell me what the procedure to resolve this is, I do not wish to bury your customers pain behind an email address, just in case others wish to know the products pain points prior to buying during this holiday season 🙂
