Q Access LAN Stops at the Azulle screen

I reported that my Q Access LAN would not boot. It was stopping the process at the Azulle v 4.0 screen and nothing I did could get into the BIOS. I returned it to support and it booted perfectly for you. hmm When it came home it booted normally. The next time I booted, it stuck again. I started looking for what changed. I removed all the USB devices. It booted. I then try to boot the unit with each device to see it one of them was the culprit. Sure enough, It will not boot when my HP OfficeJet 6978 is attached. If I attach it after booting, the stick and the printer/scanner work perfectly.

I don’t know what about the printer could be causing it not to boot. If it at least would make it to the start of the OS loading I would suspect bad divers, but this is odd.
I also dusted off another company’s stick ( not as good as Azulle) with the same memory and processor. It boots fine with all of the devices attached.

Where can I look to troubleshoot this? There appears to be something different in the Q Access LAN. I don’t know what to do other that remove the printer to boot and then hot plug it in. All ideas are welcome.

Windows Socket Registry Entries Missing

Hi,

On a fresh start from cold of my Quantum Access Windows 10 LAN I get the error as described in the link below:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_web/windows-socket-registry-entries-missing-according/5f54e033-9d49-4de0-bf23-576653641b20

If I run ‘netsh winsock reset’ from an elevated command prompt and restart then the LAN connection returns, but when I shut down and turn on with the power button the issue returns.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Many thanks,
James

Update:

My problem turned out to be some sort of conflict between the QA and an HP printer. I removed the printer and it boots normally.
All is well.

Does this process update the BIOS? The download looks like it only installs Ubuntu. Where can I download the BIOS which allows a 64-bit OS to be loaded, destroys the embedded Windows key, etc.?

Is the bios update for power on after power loss at ftp://70.35.206.127/Software/BIOS/Access/Q%20Access%20Autorun%201.2.zip OK to use on Quantum Access LAN bios version 4.32?
I applied it to my wireless only Quantum Access and it’s working fine, but I don’t want to chance using it on the Quantum LAN version until I know it’s OK to do so. If it is not OK to use on the Quantum Access LAN, is there another version and where is it located?

Also, I haven’t been able to use WAKE ON LAN for the Quantum Access LAN. I didn’t see anything in the BIOS to enable that function and issuing the “magic packet” doesn’t wake it up.

I’m looking to use the Quantum Access LAN in an unattended situation, so being able to power it up remotely is an absolute must.

Windows 10 Anniversary Upgrade

My girls, 1 QA and 2 QA LAN, have all been upgraded to the Windows 10 Anniversary Upgrade. Two upgraded without issue. The upgrade failed on one leaving the OS screwed up. After doing a factory restore on that one, the upgrade went smoothly.

The new upgrade requires a minimum RAM of 2gb. Since that is all the QAs have, I expected the QAs to run slower because it would have to swap to virtual memory. The QAs actually run smoother.

I am happy with the upgrade.

Hi just wondering has anyone done this with their Byte. Ideally I’d like 8GB and would be great to hear other experiences or if it’s possible?

I’m having the same problem. Please advice. I already tried resetting to factory with both Windows 8 and 10 to no avail. Nothing connected to the Quantum Acces but the USB drive with the Windows version you guys provided and a keyboard.

I can get it to the “Getting devices ready” screen, up to a 100%, then the “Getting Ready” screen, and then it just shuts down. If I turn it on again I get the “Windows not installed correctly, try reinstalling” error.

Stuck in this loop for the 10th time now.

Thanks for your help!

Hello Kristina,

I would recommend you to use CleanDisk, that would help you to get some free space:

Regarding to the factory restore, perhaps this option is easier for you:

Thank you for using Azulle!

Hello Gary,

The memory is not expandable in the Azulle Quantum Byte. However you should check our newest member of the family: the Azulle Byte Plus, it comes with options for 2GB or 4GB of RAM:

Thank you,

Hello Jason,

The process above does not update the BIOS, is just the Ubuntu installation process. In order to get the BIOS, please reach us at support@azulletech.com. We’d gladly provide it to you.

Hello James,

Let me help you troubleshoot this issue. My first recommendation will be download and reinstall the driver for the Ethernet, you can find it here:

ftp://ftp.azulletech.com/Software/Drivers/Access%20and%20Byte/AX88772C_772B_772A_772_Win10_v3.18.2.0_Drivers_Setup_v1.0.2.0.zip

Also I would disable the sleep on disconnect feature, to do that go to the adapter properties, select Advanced, find the Property Device Sleep on disconnect and disable it. Press OK and reboot the computer.

Let us know if that fix the issue and if you have any question or need further help, do not hesitate to contact us.

Same Issue here – USB option changed and I cannot reset bios.
Already opened the unit and disconnected to only on board connector which seems to lead to the battery – left it like this for several minutes. connected. nothing changed.
Both Bios is messed up and the OS is not loading either.

Not much of a quality device and very very poor service.

HDMI Signal Loss

QA Mini PC Stick with Windows 10 (also have the same issue with Windows 8.1 version).
Sharp TV LC-50LB26iu

When I change my TV input away from QA and later switch back at a later time the HDMI signal does not come thru. Both the QA and the TV appear to be working but signal does not appear to be syncing. I can reset either the QA (reboot) OR the TV to get the signal back.

Hello,

As per our warranty policy:

If the product was modified with another operating system, Azulle is not responsible for any loss of data or damage due to a failed installation of the operating system. You may purchase another operating system, but our technical support and warranty is limited to the original operating system that came with the product. Attempting to load another OS may render the system inoperable, void the warranty, and erase the embedded product key included with the device

If you decide to disable the USB port in the BIOS, please understand that you will not able to use them, meaning that you are partially bricking the unit. That has nothing to do with quality of the device or the service.
If need further assistance or have questions or concerns, please reach to us directly to support@azulletech.com or call us at 786 233 6769 mon-fri 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
