Autorun clarification for original Quantum Byte

Hello, I’m hoping for some clarification of the Autorun/Poweron functionality for my Quantum Byte computer.

I purchased my Quantum Byte mini-PC several years ago, and the serial # is < 2015085001. I take this to mean that I do not have the jumper switch.

My original BIOS was 1.1. I updated it to 1.3.

I searched but could not find any listing to turn on the auto-poweron capability under the places listed on the forum. This included OS/BOM or Southbridge, though I think the Southbridge was for later models.

However, am I correct in that the computer is now already set to auto-poweron? I did try just plugging in the power, it did auto power on.

If this is all correct, how do I deactivate the auto-power on?

I am having the same issue. We bought 30 of these and none have a windows 10 driver. I downloaded the driver pack from the site and installed, but still not showing up .

Hello qb1,

Thank you for using the Azulle forums. Please refer to this video for the steps of how to update BIOS:

For that, use this BIOS File:

ftp://ftp.azulletech.com/Software/BIOS/Quantum%20Byte/QB_412.zip

Here are the steps: you can update the Quantum device for Power On Power loss via a bios update. Please use the bios provided to reflash your Quantum device. This feature will be located in the BIOS -> Advanced -> OS/BOM Configuration -> Select Auto Power on or manual power.

Best regards.

Hello kbuloso,

Thank you for using Azulle forums. The internal storage in the Quantum Byte is not upgradeable. However you can always add space by using a SD card or an external USB drive.

Do not hesitate contact us directly if you have further questions or concerns.

TV speaker detection on HDMI

Hello. I have this stick plugged into a new Sony Bravia TV using the HDMI cable that came with the stick. Works great except for one annoying little issue. If the TV is off, after turning it back on it the stick sometimes does not detect the TV as a speaker source. I have to unplug the HDMI cable for a few seconds to get it to redetect. Sometimes this takes a few tries. Sometimes I have to reboot the stick. Any advice on getting the TV to ‘stick’ as a sound source? Thanks!

Wifi antenna dead

The stick stopped receiving signals a few days ago; I found I could still use it if I place it within inches of the access point. Is there any way I can remove the antenna to inspect the connection?

Has anyone successfully imaged one of these via pxe booting?

Picked up an Azulle Access 3 Plus for seeing if we coul use them on our environment.

I boot from UEFI IPV4 and it stated (as it should):
“Checking Media Presence…..
Media Present…..
Start PXE over IPv4.”

After a minute it gives the error:
“Station IP Address is 10.#.#.#
PXE-E16: No offer received.”

We are able to uefi pxe boot and image our other standard dell desktops.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are there any special physical mounting or interface requirements? Can any SATA III SSD be installed?

Once I’ve cloned Windows to the SSD, can I increase the system memory to 16 GB?

Hello dmteerlink,

Are there any special physical mounting or interface requirements? Can any SATA III SSD be installed?

Yes, any 2.5 SATA III SSD can be installed. Please check our video tutorial of how to do it: https://youtu.be/9MCcasAj6_8?list=PLGfK-BrwQ8YFTqqwfVtDOistg17S4KB4m

Once I’ve cloned Windows to the SSD, can I increase the system memory to 16 GB?

No, the RAM is not upgradeable.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Best regards

4GB memory seems rather small, doesn’t that cause a large amount of swapping and degrade performance.

Since Azulle hasn’t answered here, let me give some more info:

I took the 128g class 10 SD out of the Byte plus and replaced it with a 32g “not class 10” SD. The new SD works just fine. Loaded it with data and accessed that data.

I now surmise that the Azulle bios and W10 1803 is incompatible with class 10 SD’s or alternately SD’s larger than 32g are incompatible. But then I have not tried a class 10 32g.

Thank you. That new BIOS version was what I needed to load.
